I love visiting airport lounges, from the really big gorgeous ones to little funky ones tucked away in corners. The whole airport lounge thing is just so weird and diverse. Rules for visiting, inter-airline agreements, product differentiation, and the psychological mindset that attracts customers to visit them. It’s really a study in marketing, economics, and the traveling culture.
A couple days ago I was returning to Sacramento after taking Susan to visit friends near Bellingham. On my return through Seattle International Airport I had a 2-hour layover. I started to going over the different airport lounges that are at Seattle trying to decide which one I should visit. Thinking about this list I realized there are many choices a traveler has when visiting this airport. In fact, after doing some research I found a couple I wasn’t even aware of. It’s really kind of amazing when you think about other airports that don’t have even a single lounge (that’s you I’m looking at SMF).
Seattle certainly has a smorgasbord of choices. I found no less than 9 different lounges that can visited (grated you have the proper method of entry). None of these stand out as “amazing” lounges, but there are a few nicer ones. I have some travel going through Seattle during the next year and will be reviewing many of these locations. In the mean time I’ve included this list for your consideration and review.
