Yesterday I flew from Seattle SeaTac airport to my home just outside of Sacramento. In departing from Seattle Airport, I was able to quickly visit the Alaska Lounge located at the North Satellite Terminal, which had just reopened that day, Saturday August 1st.
Checking into the Airport and our Southwest flight was very quiet, partially because of COVID and partially being Saturday afternoon. One of the Alaska Airline check in counter areas was shut down and I grabbed a quick pic of this normally busy area of the airport. Amazingly, we used the CLEAR security stations as they were open when we went through security. Quick, clean, and efficient. They also offered a small SWAG bag with a CLEAR face mask and packaged cleaner wipes. The face mask is navy blue and high quality, and easily now my favorite face mask to use while traveling.

Susan and our daughter didn’t want to make the trek over to the N Terminal, as we were flying on Southwest Airlines and departing out of Concourse B. Going to the N Terminal would require a ride on the North Train Loop, and take time from their lounge visit. Ever the adventurer, I dropped them off at the D concourse Alaska Lounge and headed over to check out the Alaska Lounge at the N Satellite.
I was the only person riding the North Train Loop, but there were a few people at the North Satellite Terminal. On checking into the Lounge, I noticed maybe 20 guests visiting at approximately 2:00pm in the afternoon. Flying Southwest Airlines my Admirals Lounge membership from American Airlines didn’t work for entry, but I was able use one of my Alaska Lounge Passes received for being a MVP Gold 75K member.

Closed Beverage Machine and Coffee Station
The Barista Station was Open
Pre-package food included cookies, chips, granola bars, and peanuts. There were packaged salad kits and some different whole fruits. The salads looked pretty good, but I had already eaten and didn’t try one. As you can imagine the soda machines and coffee makers were closed, but the barista station was open and I was able to enjoy a good cappuccino. Interestingly they can’t serve the cappuccino in a coffee cup, but they can serve it in a mug or a paper cup – and so I selected the mug. They also had bottled water, coke, and a couple other non-alcoholic beverages.

I spoke with the bartender and all options were available at the bar, except premium (extra charge) adult beverages. So beer, wine and the complementary hard stuff could be had. She mentioned they’re doing what they can to get back to “normal”. The facilities were clean and well taken care of during my visit. I was only able to spend a half an hour before heading over to the B concourse to meet Susan and our daughter for our flight.

The Alaska Lounge at Seattle’s North Satellite Terminal is Alaska Airline’s newest, and nicest lounge. At almost 16,000 square feet it’s very impressive and enjoyable. The interior design is beautiful.
Up until August 1st the only Alaska Lounge operating was the Lounge located in the D Concourse at SeaTac. They have now opened most of the other locations except for SeaTac C Concourse and JFK’s Terminal 7. I’m limiting my travel this summer to the West Coast of the US, and with this lounge open I’ll certainly try and connect through Seattle.
